1. Do you have new knowledge and skills you will apply immediately? Please describe. | I really like the 365Grateful. I remember in one of the sessions, we were asked to write down what we 're grateful for. I was writing in the journal on this topic and came up with only 2 things that I was grateful for. I was shocked that it's hard to jot down what I was grateful for. But after watching the You Tube video on 365 Grateful, I think I am going to start a 365Grateful journal myself, to take down photos and write what I am grateful for. I believe when I am sad or feel loss, this 365 Grateful journal will help and remind me of the beautiful and wonderful things and people I have in my life. I think this will be a fun self care project to do. |
2. Will you do things differently in your clinical setting after attending this session? Please explain. | I really like the 40 second compassion talk. If a nurse spends 40 seconds or a minute to deeply listen and respond to the patient compassionately, the nurse will develop a rapport with the patient. The patient will find the nurse competent and trustworthy, and will be happy with the care. The nurse, on the other hand, will feel rewarded that he or she has helped the patient. I will put this in practice. Even though the day starts out hectic, I will greet the patients compassionately and listen deeply to their concerns, and let them know I am there with them whether I have a solution to their concerns or not. |
3. Are there other gaps in your knowledge, skills, practice, or other areas important in your professional development as a nurse that you would like to see? | Can't think of one for now. |
4. Did you feel there was bias in the presentation or the presentation was influenced by a commercial interest in any way? | No, not at all. |
