May we all know these magical moments.
Have a wonderful weekend!
My colleague Elizabeth Donahue NP is a PCP who also moonlights in a bridge clinic working with patients who have substance use disorders. She finds this work challenging and immensely rewarding. I was inspired this week to share a phrase I have heard her repeat often as a reminder of what brings her Joy in Practice:
“Meet patients where they are, but never leave them where you found them.”
Today’s Joy in practice was shared by Elizabeth Donahue, a primary care NP and professional development manager at BWH.
Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.
Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely.
It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good.
