I have been volunteering at our vaccination station. On Saturday I turned to put the Band-Aid on the post injection arm of a physical therapist colleague. She was tearing up from relief. She was a little embarrassed, but I shared I got teary too when I got my vaccine. It has been a long year for us all. I don’t get to have direct care moments often anymore, that moment of bringing relief to someone gave me a moment of joy.
The nurse all over the news yesterday giving Biden injection #2 is a friend of mine. From his Facebook page – this moment clearly meant a lot to Ric as well. Not for the publicity moment, but for the privilege of bringing a sense of safety to our future President. I feel better he will have 95% immunity soon too!
Happy New Year! As we close the door on 2020 and look ahead to 2021, a year that is starting out full of the COVID challenges we continue to face; A reminder there is hope, joy and love in all we do. Wishing you all a few moments of peace in your day today to remember you can do hard things, in fact you are great at it!
