Tomorrow ends an April that included 21 days of rain and brings to the forefront a May trip for several of us to Ireland for the Third International Integrative Nursing Symposium. I can’t wait to immerse myself in IN best practices and research.
As I prepare to present on our JOY Campaign in Galway, I can’t help but think of an often quoted William Butler Yeats observation of his countrymen,“The Irishman sustains himself during brief periods of joy by the knowledge that tragedy is just around the corner”.
Some of you are thinking ‘how sad‘ and my fellow Irishmen are smiling because it rings so true and we love to mock ourselves. I am a recovering Irishmen who chooses to seek joy instead of losing my joy in anticipation of tragedy.
I hope you all choose joy with me today!
