Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.

One of the most amazing vaccination stories from COVID-19 was when Yo-Yo MA chose to spend his 15 minutes of wait time to ensure no bad reaction by playing for everyone there getting vaccinated. Can you imagine? No fuss, no announcements – he just played. He described himself as a “human boom box” and ascribes to Mr. Roger’s philosophy of always looking for the helpers.
Even more inspiring, the “cellar violinist” in the Ukraine is adding music, joy, respite – to those hiding out in bomb shelters. It appears the human spirit seeks joy always. And music is a universal experience.
This reminded me of the Brene Brown clip on empathy that Paula showed at our 3/17 Fellowship launch.
Empathy:
Let me hold the door for you. I may have never walked in your shoes, but I can see your soles are worn, your strength is torn under the weight of a story I have never lived before. Let me hold the door for you. After all you’ve walked through, It’s the least I can do.
