Happy Christmas Eve for those who celebrate!
I have 2 small children and I can’t help but reflect on the similarities between giving gifts at Christmas (or Hanukkah, or other holidays) and giving in our profession as nurses. When I was younger, I was much more interested in receiving gifts, but now, as I am older, I realize that the joy is far greater in giving than in receiving. As nurses we experience that quite often. I hope we can reflect on the joy that comes from giving, not only material things, but giving of ourselves.
