Many of us are experiencing unprecedented turnover rates in our areas, and as leaders, mentors, and colleagues it is difficult to frame this time of transition in a positive light. Reflecting on this, and “mourning” the loss of many of my staff, I have come to realize the happiness and wellbeing of my staff, even if that means leaving my team, is most important.
I do not watch TV often, however my family discovered Ted Lasso (Apple TV) during COVID. One of Ted’s stand out quotes I think captures the spirit of my message:
“Most of the time, change is a good thing. Now, I think that’s what it’s all about. Embracing change. Being brave. Doing whatever you have to, so that everyone in your life can move forward with theirs.”
